Hair Care Guide

Brushing:

Brush your hair gently starting at the ends and working your way up.

Use a wet brush

Avoid aggressive brushing to maintain extension quality

Brush through out the day to prevent tangling

Washing:

Use a Sulfate free shampoo & conditioner that adds moisture

Avoid the use of bond-building or protein enriched products, these can cause brittleness and breakage to extensions

Rinse with cool water to seal moisture into your cuticle

Avoid washing everyday (if using dry shampoo avoid the extensions)

Use a deep conditioner every 1-2 weeks to maintain quality

Drying:

After washing apply a leave in extension perfector (a leave in moisturizer and heat protector) starting from the bottom of each weft and working it up towards the top.

Then apply a hair oil the same way avoiding the very top of each weft where they are installed

Allow hair to air dry some to cut down on blow-dry time and dry 80% before round brushing

Never go to be with your hair wet

Use a medium heat setting

Styling:

Do not exceed medium heat setting

Use hair oil constantly (without any bond builders) Our scalp only produces enough natural oils for our natural hair, so you will need to supplement with a hair oil to allow continued moisture for your extensions

Coloring & Toning:

We cannot guarantee the quality of our extensions after any dye, toner, bleach, perm, keratin or straightening treatment is performed.

Always see a licensed professional for any services you wish to perform on your extensions

Vacation Hair:

Sunscreen:

Sunscreen WILL discolor your extensions. Do everything you can to avoid your hair coming in contact with sunscreen.  Putting sunscreen on your body and shoulders with your hair out of the way is NOT enough to keep sunscreen off your extensions, as your hair may fall against your shoulder and even a simple rubbing can absorb into the hair and cause it to turn colors.  Spray sunscreen is highly discouraged when trying to avoid sunscreen from touching your extensions.  Sunscreen will cause discoloration that can be orange/pink but not limited to other discoloration and there's nothing that can be done to get them back to their original color.

Mayne Hair Co. is not responsible for refunds/replacements if your extensions become discolored.  So please take great care in using sunscreen.

Always choose a sunscreen without the ingredient avobenzone.
